Original Cowboys Dureen jersey attributed to Roger Staubach. Staubach was a rookie with the Cowboys in 1969. He was the only #12 on the Cowboys from 1969 through 1979. This jersey matches the exact style worn by the Cowboys in 1969. The font of the front, rear and shoulder “TV” numbers are exact to what the Cowboys wore and are positioned perfectly on the jersey. The Cowboys started wearing their names on the back of the jerseys in 1970. You can see where the nameplate was removed from the jersey by the team. There are some holes where the nameplate was from cutting it off of the jersey. The nameplate lines up with roughly the middle of the 2 on the left shoulder which is consistent with Staubach nameplates on other jerseys. There are several team repairs on the front and rear of the jersey. The sleeve stripes are woven into the jersey sleeves. The TV numbers are on the shoulders of the jersey consistent with the era. I believe the Cowboys switched to numbers further down the sleeve from’71 through’74. There is a Southland tag on the jersey. It appears that it may have been re sewn onto the jersey. The jersey has a bit of discoloration – yellowing but it does not detract from the beauty. This thing should be in the Hall of Fame or a museum. Have you ever seen a Staubach jersey? Me either, until now. A Staubach rookie jersey? In your collection, framed in your man-cave? Are you kidding me?
