Staubach was drafted by the Cowboys in 1964, after winning the coveted Heisman Trophy in 1963 while guiding the Naval Academy to a near perfect season. Staubach then served until 1969 in the United States Navy, even serving a tour in Vietnam, before beginning his professional career with the Cowboys in 1969. The novelty here is that Staubach would have worn this style helmet during his annual off season training camps with the Cowboys from 1964 through 1966. This is truly a rare collectible!
